Plantmare 1.2 - Quality of Life Improvements

Hello everyone!

After the initial launch of Plantmare was fairly well-received by those who played it, I wanted to release a small update with a few quality-of-life improvements and bug-fixes. Those who played the game recently probably won't find this update a sufficiently big change to revisit the gameplay quite yet.

Bug fixes:

• Fairy lights can no longer be purchased without the sufficient funds
• Plants that are picked up from the back shelves will now no longer hover behind front-shelves so it's clearer that they can be placed on front or back shelves.
• The coin symbol for catalogue items that have been fully bought out will now also disappear
• The watering can will no longer be tiny if you press to water right after selecting the can

Quality of life improvements:

• The duck easteregg now only appears after at least ten other customers have appeared
• Plants have been slightly rebalanced in an attempt to make the less-desirable plants perform on more equal terms with the others
• A toggle switch in the pause menu has been added for the watering can. Players who don't want to hold down their mouse button for so long whilst watering can now press left-click once to toggle on watering, and once again to turn it off
• The hitbox for plants when watering has been made larger for plants in the background, so that watering them is a little easier
• A button has been added that allows the player to revisit the tutorial at any point.
• The player's movement isn't as slidey anymore

Additions:

• The player can now purchase an advertisement slot in the catalogue to attract customers to the store faster. This changes nothing else about how customers interact, but gives players that are on-top of their flower raising an opportunity to sell out their stock and make more money quickly.

Outstanding known bugs:

• Plants still flicker if placed on the edge of a shelf hitbox
• I noticed that the player character obscures the ability to click and hover with the mouse, which means that close to the player, background-plants and the store window won't be selected properly.
• It is still the case that the browser version of the game lags badly to start with before eventually calming down and running just fine. I still recommend to download the windows version for the best performance.
